Harry Potter And The Cursed Child Tickets - Palace Theatre

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Tickets - London

From the brilliant imagination of J.K Rowling in collaboration with Jack Thorne and John Tiffany comes the eighth story in the Harry Potter series that has now been adapted and is presented live on stage at the Palace Theatre in the West End. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is a play that is set nineteen years after the previous novel, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and is presented in two parts but intended to be seen in the correct order either on the same day (matinee and evening) or two consecutive evenings.

Now a father of three, Harry finds himself a stressed-out, overworked employee of the 'Ministry of Magic' struggling to come to terms with the outcome of past events. His youngest son Albus has difficulty understanding and embracing the family legacy, so when the present and the past suddenly collide, Harry and Albus must work together to defeat the darkness thrust upon them.

Featuring an array of incredible special effects that magically bring Harry's Wizardry to life, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is a theatrical experience that is not to be missed and is one of the most sought-after and in-demand productions ever to grace the West End stage.

After opening in London in July 2016, the production has broken all box office records and won a record-breaking 9 Olivier awards from 11 nominations.

How Can I Book Cheap Tickets To Harry Potter And The Cursed Child?

Before the show opened in London, advance sales were unprecedented. The Palace Theatre does offer a small selection of very affordable 'Day Tickets' for those who don't mind queueing up in the mornings and trying their luck. Although it is rare to see discount tickets for this show, if you are booking online the upper circle and balcony do offer affordable options.

How Do I Book Harry Potter And The Cursed Child Tickets If The Show Is In Two Parts?

When booking tickets to Harry Potter and the Cursed Child online you need to select a date to see Part One. Following this, you will be offered the option to either keep your seat for the evening performance of Part Two or attend the evening performance the following day.

Should I Avoid Upper Circle And Balcony Tickets To Harry Potter And The Cursed Child?

The Palace Theatre has four tiers of seating with the cheaper seats on the second and third levels. There aren't many seats with severe restrictions but balcony and upper circle tickets are high up in the auditorium. The play is performed over two parts and designed to be seen on the same day making it a big commitment for your bottom! It is always advisable to check the seating plan carefully before booking tickets in these sections to ensure a clear view of the stage.

Where Are The Best Tickets To Harry Potter And The Cursed Child Located?

This will depend on whether you prefer to be seated on the ground floor level in the stalls looking directly at the stage or in the dress circle on the first floor looking down. The best tickets in the stalls are situated on the centre aisle with the numbers 15&16 being on either side and in the dress circle where the centre aisle seats are numbered 18&19. In both sections, these seats will offer a clear view of the stage with direct access to the aisle.

Was Harry Potter And The Cursed Child Written By J.K Rowling?

Actually no! Although the play is based on an original story by Rowling, John Tiffany, and Jack Thorne it was Thorne who was responsible for the script and bringing the story to the stage, with Tiffany directing the action. The music in the production is by Imogen Heap and the choreography is by Steven Hoggett, with set design by Christine Jones.

Is Harry Potter And The Cursed Child The Sequel To Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows?

Of a sort yes, although the story takes place 19 years later! The play begins with Hermione, Ron, Ginny, and Harry at Kings Cross Station sending their children to Hogwarts.

Is Harry Potter And The Cursed Child In Two Separate Parts?

Yes, it is. It is slightly complicated but both parts are played out in the Palace Theatre and work as follows - on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays it is possible to see the matinee performance of Part One, plus an evening performance of Part Two with one ticket securing the same seat for both shows. There are evening performances of Part One on Thursdays and evening performances of Part Two on Fridays, so if you have booked Part One for Thursday evening you will automatically be booked into Part Two for the following day. If you can't attend both parts on consecutive days, it is possible to see Part One on Thursday evening and book Part Two for a Friday evening later. Clear as mud!

Has Harry Potter And The Cursed Child Won Awards?

The play was awarded 9 Olivier Awards in 2017 including Best New Play and Best Director.

The Palace Theatre has four levels and a capacity of 1380 seats. There are mixed views of the stage throughout the venue, which features one of the steepest balconies in the West End which may not be suitable for patrons suffering from vertigo. Some seats have slightly restricted views due to support pillars and safety rails so studying the seating plan carefully is recommended.

Seats in the front section of the Dress Circle or the centre of the Stalls are considered the premium seats with rows G-K in the Stalls being particularly good as the stage is elevated and the rake in the seating allows for the action to be viewed at eye level.

Due to the mixture of views available throughout the theatre, different price bands are available that can bring value to your purchase by studying the price cut-off points. Seats towards the rear of each section are often cheaper due to overhangs from the circles, support pillars, and their distance from the stage, but can offer good value. The Balcony section is also good value and ideal to secure lastminute deals or cheap Harry Potter and the Cursed Child tickets. There are some severe restrictions in this section but the front of the Balcony offers good views, although it can feel a little distant from the stage. Alternatively, the centre of the Grand Circle can also offer excellent value and provides a clear view of the stage.
